BETTY BRINDLE (nee Robertson) Elizabeth Crossan Brindle Born 6th July 1925, wife of George and mother of Ian sadly passed away aged 95 in Newton House residential car home near Glasgow, after a long illness. Her husband George Albert Brindle (a former soldier of the Borders Regiment) and Betty met at a VE day celebration on 8th May 1945 at Johnstone, Renfrewshire, and were married at Polmadie Church of Scotland, Glasgow on 8th December that year before setting up home in Bolton. George, born on 23rd August 1915 died while playing bools on 12th July 1988. Their son Ian was born on 18th May 1949 and Ian, an IT expert, passed away in New York on 12th October 1997. Betty and George enjoyed a lovely life together and are now at rest and reunited. As was her wish Betty will be cremated and her ashes buried in her mother's grave at Cardonald Cemetery, Glasgow on 13th May.

George was my supervisor when I joined the Civil Service in 1967, he was a good friend. Betty joined our retirement Group years later and was always cheerful and happy. I was sorry when she moved up to Glasgow and we lost touch. Fond memories of both, Eileen
