NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has extended the above Order.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable, from using the following footpaths: Tyldesley No. 139 from its junction with Chaddock Lane at Point E on the Order Map at grid reference 371122 400994 for a distance of approximately 153 metres in a northerly direction to Point B on the Order Map at grid reference 371108 401138. Tyldesley No. 141 from its junction with Kendal Road at Point A on the Order Map at grid reference 371247 401233 in a westerly then southerly direction to Point B on the Order Map at grid reference 371108 401138 for a distance of approximately 230 metres.
Tyldesley No. 142 commences at Point C on the Order Map at grid reference 371201 401235, going in a generally north westerly direction to Point D on the Order Map at grid reference 371090 401330 where it meets public bridleway Tyldesley No. 143 on Garrett Lane.
Tyldesley No. 151 commences at Point B on the Order Map at grid reference 371108 401138 and runs in a westerly direction for approximately 55 metres to Point F on the Order Map at grid reference 371065 401138 to its junction with public footpath Tyldesley No. 152 and the newly created bridleway Tyldesley No. 153. The alternative route for traffic is available from Chaddock Lane to Garrett Lane via the newly created public bridleway Tyldesley No. 153, as shown on the Order Map between Points G and D.
These public footpaths will be closed for a period until 19th August 2022 or until the completion of the works, whichever occurs sooner. The Order map may be requested, please email

Cranham Avenue, Lowton - Proposed Prohibition of Waiting Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1,2,3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.497) Order 2020.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
? Cranham Avenue, Lowton, north west side, from a point 15 metres south west of its junction with Thornbury Avenue for a distance of 27.5 metres in a south westerly direction

? Cranham Avenue (school access road), Lowton, on both sides, from its junction with Cranham Avenue for a distance of 29 metres in a north westerly direction

There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait -To enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident.
The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.

Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof
and must be made to the Assistant Director - Legal, Town Hall, Library Street,
Wigan quoting reference RD/LS/SEC/C108.100 not later than 25th September 2020.
