ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, SECTION 14(1) THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (RECTORY LANE AND BURY ROAD, RADCLIFFE) TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury have made an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from proceeding along:-
1) Rectory Lane, Radcliffe - from its junction with Spring Lane for a distance of 50 m in a southerly direction
2) Bury Rd, Radcliffe - from its junction with Spring Lane for a distance of 50 m in a northerly direction
The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works on Spring Lane.
The alternative route for 1) Rectory Lane will be via Spring Lane, Blackburn St,
Pilkington Way, Dale St & Church St West & vice-versa and for 2) Bury Rd will be
via Spring Lane, Cross Lane, Eton Hill Rd & Bury Rd & vice-versa
The Order comes into operation on Sunday 27 February 2022 and shall remain in
force for a period of up to 12 months, although the anticipated duration of the works
is 2 Sundays.

The reason for the proposed order is to continue to facilitate the recovery/reopening
of businesses (particularly hospitality) following COVID19.
The alternative route will be via Union St, Palatine St and King St & vice versa
The Order comes into operation on 24/02/22 and shall remain in force for a period of
up to 18 months, although necessity of the closure will remain under review.

To prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along Public Footpath 3 St Marys, Radcliffe between York St & Bury Rd. The closure is required in the interests of public safety in order to facilitate ongoing ground remediation works and construction of an emergency access.
The diversion route is via York St, Hardys Gate Bridge, Dinners Ln, part of footpath 104BUR, Whitefield Rd, Keswick Dr, Kendal Dr & Bury Rd & vice versa Closure until 24/08/22 or until completion of works, if earlier. 24/02/22
