Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 14(1) The Metropolitan Borough Of Bury (Cann St, Tottington) Temporary Closure Order 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Counril of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury intend in not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicles from proceeding along:-

The closure is in place to enable electrical works in the carriageway.
The proposed Order comes into operation on 14/03/22 and remains in force for up to
3 months (Anticipated duration of works 7 days).

The closure is required to maintain public safety & in anticipation of bridge refurbishment works
The diversion route is via Footpath 68, Bury, Manchester Rd, Hollins Ln, Croft Ln,
Pilsworth Rd & Roach Bank Rd & vice versa
Closure until 08/09/23 or until completion of works, if earlier.

The reason for the proposed order is to facilitate telecoms works
There is no alternative diversion route, access will be maintained for emergency
services if required

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 SECTION 257 WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH OF BURY (PART OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.7, WHLTEFIELD) (PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION) ORDER 2012
On the 15thFebruary 2022 the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury confirmed the above Order made on 15 March 2012 under Section 257 Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the existing footpath which travels in an easterly direction from fields at Point A on the map, across a yard to join public footpath No6 Whitefield in fields at Point B on the map. The section of path is 95m in length and has a width of 1.2m, to a line which commences in fields at Point A on the map and runs in a northerly direction for 20m to an access road, then south easterly across a bridge and gravel path to a kissing gate before joining public footpath No6, Whitefield in fields at Point C on the map. The diversion route is 125m in length and 1.2m in width.
The Definitive Map and Statement for Bury is modified accordingly in accordance with Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
Copies of the Order and Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the Reception Desk, Town Hall, Knowsley St, Bury, BL9 0SW during normal office hours.
This Order comes into force on 3 March 2022 but if any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act as amended or any regulation made under it has been complied with in relation to confirmation of the Order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under Section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
