The Metropolitan Borough Of Bury (Rufford Drive Area, Whitefield) (20 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2022 And Traffic Calming Measures
Notice Is Hereby Given
that Bury Metropolitan Borough Council intends to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as follows:-
Street Length
Millom Drive Full length
Rufford Close Full length
Rufford Drive Between Ripon Avenue and Millom Drive
Rhodes Drive Between Millom Drive and Randale Drive
Furthermore the Council proposes to introduce the following traffic calming measures under Sections 90A and 90C of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999:-
Street Location
Rufford Drive 30m west of Whalley Road
Rufford Drive 10m east of Whalley Road
Rufford Drive 45m east of Rufford Close
Millom Drive 80m north west of Rhodes Drive
Rhodes Drive 10m south west of Randale Drive
A copy of the draft 20mph Speed Limit Order, plans showing the roads and areas affected, a schedule of all streets included and a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order and introducing the proposals may be requested by email at
quoting reference TM23/18/411
All representations whether in support or objecting to the proposals, together with the grounds on which they are made must be made in writing and sent to the Head of Engineering, 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury BL9 0EJ or preferably by email to
quoting ref: TM23/18/411 by 7th April 2022.

20 mph speed limit applying to the following streets:__

Kenmor Avenue Full length
Wolsey Street Full length
Warren Street Full length
Luton Street (unadopted) Full length
Un-named and unadopted road between Orpington Drive & Colville Drive Full length
Un-named road between Colville Drive and rear of No.2 Colville Drive Full length
Furthermore the Council proposes to introduce the following traffic calming measures under Sections 90A and 90C of the Highways Act 1980 and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999:-
Pairs of 75mm high Speed Cushions, 1.7m wide and 2.0m long_

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) The Metropolitan Borough Of Bury (Footpath 19, Tottington) Extension To Temporary Closure Order
Notice Is Hereby Given that the Council of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, having made an Order on 18/03/21 under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has been directed by the Secretary of State for Transport that the order shall continue in force as follows:
To prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along Footpath 19, Tottington, to prevent any danger to users as maintenance works have not yet been completed. Closure until 18/09/22 or until completion of works, if earlier. Note that there is no alternative route. Dated-17/03/22
