Bridge Street Golborne - Proposed Toucan Crossing, Prohibition of Waiting, Prohibition of Loading/Unloading and Prohibition of Driving Except For Cyclists Notice of Proposals
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 23 and 25 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and of all Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984 has resolved to introduce a Toucan Crossing on the following street(s):-
* Bridge Street Golborne - from a point 25 metres south of its junction with Legh Road.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Bridge Street Golborne in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004
(Amendment 533 ) Order 2022
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
? Pimblett Street Golborne - (both sides including the cul-de-sac end) from a point 41 metres east (Northern Kerbline) from its junction with Cross Street to a point 41 metres east (Southern Kerbline) from its junction with Cross Street

? Bridge Street Golborne - (East side) from a point 13 metres north of Legh Street for a distance of 62 metres in a southern direction.

There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait -to enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no loading/unloading at any time on:
* Bridge Street Golborne - (East side) from a point 13 metres north of Legh Street for a distance of 62 metres in a southern direction.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act of 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough Council (Bridge Street Golborne) (Prohibition of Driving)
Order 2022.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit driving of motor vehicles with the exception of cyclists on the following length of roads:-
* Pimblett Street Golborne - from a point 45 metres east of its junction with Cross Street to its junction with Bridge Street

The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed. A copy of the proposed Order and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested by emailing

Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director Legal, f^n^Zw-i Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan quoting  reference RD/LS/RD/LS/DC/C108/383 not later than 21st April 2022.

Wigan Borough (Leigh No.135 (Part)) (Temporary Closure) Order 2022 Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director
Infrastructure and Regulatory Services, Places Directorate, of the
Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by
Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated
to her by the said Council, proposes to make the Wigan Borough
(Leigh No.135 (Part)) (Temporary Closure) Order 2022.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person, except upon
direction or with permission of a police constable, from using:
Public footpath Leigh No.135 from Point A at its junction with Mill
Lane as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 366896 399947,
east to Point B at its junction with public footpath Leigh No. 134
as shown on the Order Map at grid reference 366923 399949 for
a distance of approximately 28 metres.
This public footpath will be closed for a period of eight weeks
commencing on 1st April 2022.
Please note there is no alternative route available.
The Order is necessary to enable the replacement of the footbridge
over Bedford Brook.
Brown Street South, Leigh - Experimental Prohibition of Waiting Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Traffic Management Act 2004, of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, has made the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Leigh Roads) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation Order) 2004 (Amendment No.136) (Experimental) Order 2022 which will come into operation
on 1st April 2022.
The effect of the Order will be to revoke, for an experimental period of 18 months, no waiting at any time on:-
* Brown Street, Leigh (West side) from its junction with Bradshawgate to its junction with Gas Street

* Brown Street, Leigh (East side) from its junction with Gas Street to its junction with Bradshawgate

* Brown Street South Leigh (West side) from its junction with Gas Street to a point 7 metres south of its junction with Gas Street

* Brown Street South Leigh (West side) from a point 29 metres south of its junction with Gas Street to its Cul-de-sac end

* Brown Street South Leigh (East side) from its junction with Gas Street to its Cul-de-sac end

The effect of the Order will be to introduce, for an experimental period of 18 months, no waiting at any time on:-
* Brown Street South, Leigh (Both sides) from its junction with Bradshawgate to its Cul-de-sac end

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN Wigan Borough Council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Any person may within the period of six months from the coming into force of this Order object to the making of the Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation. Any such objections to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director - Legal, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan quoting reference RD/LS/SEC/C108.388 not later than
23rd September 2022.
