ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE WIMBORNE ROAD THE POOLE (WIMBORNE ROAD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2018 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order in exercise of its powers under The Highways Act 1980, The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Local Authorities Traffic Order (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, the effect of this Order is detailed below.
FROM 7AM ON MONDAY 12 MARCH TO 5.30PM ON THURSDAY 29 MARCH 2018 A SOUTHBOUND ROAD CLOSURE WILL BE IN PLACE ON WIMBORNE ROAD FROM THE NEW INN SIGNAL JUNCTION TO THE GEORGE ROUNDABOUT. THIS WILL ALSO INCLUDE THE CLOSURE OF THE JUNCTIONS OF WINTERBOURNE ROAD, SANDBOURNE ROAD, MARNULL ROAD, STOKES AVENUE, HAYNES AVENUE, TATNAM ROAD, GARLAND ROAD AND HECKFORD ROAD. ALSO CLOSED WILL BE THE DARBY'S LANE JUNCTION WITH FERNSIDE ROAD TO INCLUDE THE CYCLE LANE THAT CROSSES WIMBORNE ROAD AT THE NEW INN JUNCTION. THERE WILL BE A LEFT-TURN BAN FOR VEHICLES EXITING DENMARK LANE AND KINGS CLOSE. THERE WILL BE A RIGHT-TURN BAN FOR VEHICLES EXITING ST MARGARETS ROAD, STADIUM WAY, SERPENTINE ROAD AND THE ENTRANCE OF POOLE HIGH SCHOOL Frontagers and Emergency Services will be given precise details of the works in due course. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis. Residents of die closed section of road will be informed by letter nearer the time of the proposed works. A diversion will be signed THE CLOSURES ARE REQUIRED FOR CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING
The proposed Order is effective from 7am on Monday 12 March 2018 until 5.30pm on Thursday 29 March 2018. The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required.
If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with die approval of the Secretary of State for Transport
