NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.429) Order 2018.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:
 Both sides of Stone Cross Lane North from its junction with the A580 East Lancashire Road to its junction with Yew Tree Way


 North side of Stone Cross Lane North from its junction with Yew Tree Way to a point 29 metres in an easterly direction from its junction with Yew Tree Way


 South side of Stone Cross Lane North from its junction with Yew Tree Way to a point 50 metres in an easterly direction from its junction with Yew Tree Way


 West side of Yew Tree Way from its junction with Stone Cross Lane North to a point 78 metres in a north easterly from its junction with Stone Cross Lane North


 East side of Yew Tree Way from its junction with Stone Cross Lane North to a point 32 metres in a north easterly direction from its junction with Stone Cross Lane North


 North side of Yew Tree Way from its junction with Stone Cross Lane North to a point 130 metres in a north westerly from its junction with Stone Cross Lane North


 South side of Yew Tree Way from its junction with Sone Cross Lane North to a point 83 metres in a north westerly direction from its junction with Stone Cross Lane North

There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait -to enable people to board or alight, for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident. The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.
A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at Leigh Town Hall, Market Street, Leigh, during opening times. Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director Legal, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan quoting reference RD/LS/RD/LS/JOH/CL48/407 not later than 8th June 2018.
