THE Bolton News is looking for the best and brightest local talent to celebrate our 150th anniversary – and Peter Kay will help to pick the acts for a special charity show .

Five amateur acts will be chosen to perform at a ‘Bolton’s Got Talent’ evening, hosted by the Peter, at the Macron Stadium on Friday, December 1.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to Bolton Hospice.

If you think are a super singer, dancer, musician, magician, comedian, poet, gymnast or have a hidden talent you would like to share, we want you to send us a video, showing us what you can do, along with your details.

A shortlist will be drawn up and then Peter will help us choose five acts for the special evening, which has been organised to celebrate The Bolton News’ 150th birthday.

The winner will be chosen on the evening and will take away a £1,000 first prize. The runner-up will receive £500 and the other three acts £150 each.

Peter said: “I am really looking forward to seeing what talent there is in Bolton. I know Bolton has got some fantastic talent out there and now it is up to the people to come forward and shine. Who knows what it could lead to.

“I am delighted to be involved in the 150th celebrations of The Bolton News. The BEN, as it was, has been a big part of my life, from delivering it to reading it.

“Bolton’s Got Talent is going to be an incredible event. Not only for the community but also for Bolton Hospice, with all money raised going to the wonderful charity.

“I'm honoured to be working on something so positive in my home town.”

Ian Savage, Editor in Chief of The Bolton News, said: “It is brilliant that Peter should take time from his busy schedule to host what will be a very special night both for The Bolton News and the people of this town.

“I am looking forward to seeing the wealth of talented people I know we have in this borough.

“We now need people to get cracking and send us their ‘audition’ videos as soon as possible, so we can assemble a great line-up for the night.”
