I AM writing in response to the article published on January 3 regarding the proposed parking scheme for parks in the borough, and in response to the letter published by Mr Grundy, secretary of the Moss Bank Park Veterans Club.
We have been completely open with the public and our fellow councillors on Bolton Council with all the options for spending, saving, and investment in the lead-up to this year's budget.
As always, the council has many demands upon its resources, and we would be failing in our duty if we failed to consider all the possible alternatives.
The papers considered by the executive are, at this stage, only policy options, rather than firm proposals that shall be put before council later this year.
I can assure Mr Grundy and all the bowlers that we shall be taking their views into consideration when we make the final decisions on this year's budget.
Cllr John Byrne, Breightmet
