I WRITE regarding the article on Thursday, January 4, and the comments from Cllr Wilkinson about reporting six councillors to the Standards Board, in which he stated that "the people of Westhoughton have a right to know if councillors have breached the code of conduct".

How can Cllr Wilkinson have the nerve to say this, when he himself has been found guilty on five counts by the Standards Board - breaching the code of conduct, failing to treat others with respect, failing to declare interest, and telling lies.

He was found guilty on all counts but no action is to be taken against him, which is unbelievable.

I suggest Cllr Wilkinson should resign his post of councillor. He did state that he would resign if found guilty, so I suggest he does just that now, and lets the town councillors get on with the job they are there to do - work for the people of Westhoughton.
