THE story relating to Breathing Monitors, “Cash lifeline for poorly youngsters” (May 15), is a little inaccurate and I should like to correct the text.

The Trust, of which I am a trustee and featured in the story, is called The Bradshaw Gass Trust, which was set up following the death in 1939 of John Bradshaw Gass, a founding partner of the Bolton Architectural and Engineering practice Bradshaw Gass and Hope.

This trust has no connection with Bradshaw Gass and Hope, except for the description I have given.

The donation given to MedEquip4kids was given by the Bradshaw Gass Trust. Bradshaw Gass and Hope had nothing to do with the donation.

However, I was also the senior partner of Bradshaw Gass and Hope until my retirement in December, 2012, so that is where the confusion may have arisen.

Other trustees, both present and past, have also been senior partners of the practice or family-connected in some way.

It is a strong custom that the firm of Bradshaw Gass and Hope maintains an interest in the Bradshaw Gass Trust in providing trustees as older ones retire, but there is no other link between the organisations than this.
