I AM feeling rather perplexed. I received a letter from Bolton Council to say that we would receive our postal voting papers. I phoned them to say we had not requested postal voting. I was told to just go to the polling station on the day and state my name and address.
When I said this seemed a lackadaisical way of doing the voting, I was told: “Those are the rules!” Where is the security against fraud?
At one time you had to have your cards with all your details, which were scrutinised before you could vote. No wonder nobody trusts councils or politicians.
