BLOTT on The Landscape was a satirical, amusing novel by Tom Sharpe published in 1975.
Bolton Council planners have produced their own blot on the Bolton landscape by installing an enormous, noisy, smelly and ugly compactor in the centre of the new market car park on Moor Lane.
It is sited alongside the drop off point for coaches bringing visitors to Bolton and will create a pretty poor impression for everyone who uses the car park, visitors and locals alike.
A necessary part of the market facilities of course but could Bolton Planning department not find a less prominent location for this monster?
