WE reported this week on the unusual story of twins born on different days.
Identical girls Robyn and Scarlett Atherton were born 18 minutes apart, either side of midnight.
As our reporter Vickie Scullard wrote, they will share many things in life, but never a birthday.
As a twin myself (I have a twin sister Lizzie – no, we’re not identical, before you ask) it is easy to complain that you must share your birthday. It is a bit like being born at Christmas – you somehow feel like you miss out on having your very own special day.
But in fact, being a twin is a gift – you do share almost everything and some even report feeling the other’s pain.
I hope this is not the case this coming January. My twin is expecting a baby girl.
