IT was very interesting to read the various comments on the Holocaust, to which the whole week of prayers on the BBC is dedicated.
I have met several Jews who, with the help of friends, escaped from the various camps.
One that struck me strongly was a Jew released by mistake. When asked what the man left behind would feel, he replied I am sorry for him, but the guard that released me has my sympathy, he would be given no chance, he would either be hanged or shot before the day was out.
To me, this sentiment is in keeping with the greatest Jew of all time, but never mentioned in any of your published letters. I refer to the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ, who prayed for his persecutors as he died on the cross.
Where is that forgiveness today? Everyone is greedy, vengeful and trying to rule by thuggery.
It is time that the cross came back into the lives of people, and the world would be a better place for everyone.
