I AM writing with regard to the recent NHS advertisement boards which have appeared in connection with the Stop Smoking campaign.

These are placed on billboards in various locations, showing a man with what appears to be a fishing hook pulling on his mouth.

These pictures can only be described as grotesque. Some parts of Bolton are depressing enough without this addition, and I think they should never have been allowed to be put up.

As I walk past these posters with my daughter, who is five, she gets very frightened and upset (the other NHS poster near Argos with a man wearing a belt across his chest is also upsetting to children).

As a result, I have to avoid these routes when I am walking with my children.
