WITH reference to the furore over the plans to reduce Crompton Way from two lanes to one, it strikes me as absurd that Cllr Nick Peel should dismiss Conservative objections on the grounds that they "have nothing to do with this ward".
Such a scheme on one of the busiest roads in the area, should be the concern of all parties, regardless of who actually represents the ward in council.
The Labour Party does not have a monopoly on public opinion, therefore it is crucial in a democracy that all points of view be openly debated, rather than dismissed in such an apparently cavalier fashion.
