I REFER to your article, "Protests over 'two at a time' buses" (Tuesday, February 6).
The same thing happened when First bus decided to take off the 536 and 537 Darcy Lever circular and replace it with the 95 to Salford! Arriva gave us back the 536 and 537 and we were very grateful.
At that time the 95 left Moor Lane on the hour and half-hour, the 537 left at five minutes to the hour and 25 past. So First changed the times to 20 to the hour and 20 past.
Consequently, Arriva bus went out of business. Now it seems First (after gaining the monopoly) are taking off the 95. So we will be left with no buses at all running up Bromwich Street.
Something should be done to stop bus companies putting passengers second and profits first.
