WHY does Councillor Morris expect the people of Bolton "to wait and see" what might happen at Cheadle Square.
He has railroaded through a number of plans for the town without seeming to even acknowledge that the residents have some feeling with regard to the town environment.
Those of us who have looked at the proposals are aware that the Crescent is not going to be torn down and Councillor Morris does not need to be so patronising to the local voters when trying to inflict more corporate vandalism on the town. I fully agree with Mark Head who refers to the proposal as "Philistine in the worst possible way".
Prof. George Holmes states there is a "need" for more student accommodation but it doesn't have to been in this location. Students won't bring prosperity to the town centre as they have no cash to spend.
Please leave Cheadle Square alone and accommodate any potential students nearer to the campus or other student villages.
