WITH reference to Harwood Quarry, I would like to point out that the main entrance to St Brendan's School is not Brookfold Lane, but off Longsight, near the church.

There is a large car park which could be extended, so mothers could park safely there.

The lorries cannot be timed to not use the lane at certain times and they travel all over the country. If they were to arrive during the proposed banned period, where would they park? On Longsight, Hardy Mill Road, Patterdale Road, South Drive, Ruins Lane - this would just expand the problem and is a nonsense suggestion.

The mothers have no consideration for the drivers of the 40-ton, eight-wheeler lorries, and expect to have right of way at all times. They park all over Brookfold Lane, on the corner near the road junction, double park on the narrow lane and on the zigzag lines near the school entrance.

I do not want flashing lights and speed bumps outside my home; it is bad enough living with the lorries, school traffic and nursery traffic.

How would the mothers like all this outside their homes? I think not.

I especially do not want these measures when there is a perfectly good spacious car park, free from road hazards, free from lorries, and other road users for the mothers to use.
