I have a disabled badge and following considerable difficulty in finding a space in Manchester, I now travel to Manchester on a fairly regular basis by train from Lostock.

The parking at Lostock station is free, but is always full in the day time.

There are two clearly marked disabled spaces and these are very frequently occupied by people not displaying badges. Occasionally the station staff put stickers on the offending cars, but this is not always done.

I have printed myself some slips to place under the windscreen wipers, but I have no idea if these have any effect.

Also at supermarkets where there is often quite a good supply of disabled spaces, many places are taken up by cars not displaying badges, and several of these are parked across the lines, thus taking up two spaces.

In view of the current high profile of the fraudulent use of badges, I want to highlight this other problem, and campaign for recognition of the need to leave these spaces available for those genuinely needing them?
