I WAS shocked to read about the incident in which a 20-year-old woman who fell from the Bradford Street bridge over Saint Peter's Way at 2.05am on Sunday morning.
I have lived opposite this bridge since 1997 and during which time I have been aware of at least four such incidents. It is when incidents like this occur that I think enough is enough and that something should be done to prevent this happening.
I hope somebody on the council will be reading this and will take some positive action towards making the bridge more secure. A glass or metal barrier would help and would also stop idiots from throwing objects on to the motor way below. One life lost is one too many. Fortunately, the young lady in this case has survived and our thoughts are with her in the hope that she will make a complete recovery.
