THE parks bowling greens in Bolton and district are a disgrace.
There is no pleasure in bowling on them anymore —full of moss and weeds and not cut properly, not maintained properly.
This has been the problem since before the start of the season and although complaints have been made by numerous folk and a story in the Bolton News, nothing is being done to help an already disastrous start to the club matches.
Folk are having to 'chuck' their bowls across heavy and really unplayable bowling greens.
The council say it is too late to do anything now — which is utter rubbish.
The council green at the public hall in Horwich has been maintained by the members and is a pleasure to play on as are private greens in the district — so the only reason the council greens are unplayable is because their maintenance is non-existent. So who will resign for spoiling a few thousand members of the public's pleasure and daily involvement in sport and keep fit and sociable interaction.
I guess nobody will because the council is not bothered despite dozens of complaints.
