I write in support of the story re the disgusting state of the greens which have taken away the enjoyment and skill of bowling for many people for whom it is their only source of recreation and exercise.

I have already written to the Neighbourhood services manager, Councillor Cliff Morris and our local MP Yasmin Quereshi and have received replies from all of them with the same excuse of poor weather conditions and lack of resources for ground maintenance.

It is strange that privately owned greens have suffered the same weather conditions and yet have their greens in good playable condition

I appeal then to Councillor Nick Peel to do his utmost to improve future ground maintenance of the bowling greens and to return them to playable greens once more to be enjoyed by many bowlers.

Surely a little money can be found for this purpose which will be a drop in the ocean compared to the tremendous amounts required in the many ongoing developments in the town at present.
