OLYMPIC gold medal victories?
My suggestions for Bolton Council are:
1. A revamp and renaming of Harper Green playing fields in Farnworth to "The Jason Kenny Sports Fields”, with the addition of a new cycling track for youngsters and athletes. These playing fields have been sadly neglected over recent years.
2. A bronze statue of Jason sited in front of Farnworth town hall. (Yes Farnworth still has a town hall, but it is that in name only since it does not provide any public services!)
3. The proposed, long awaited, new redevelopment of Farnworth shopping centre on the old open air market site to be named "The Jason Kenny Shopping Centre"; that is if this development ever goes ahead.
4. On the other hand, if the redevelopment plans are scrapped them perhaps a new Velodrome for youngsters could be built on the old Farnworth market site, and paid for out of Bolton Council's coffers.
