To Bolton councillors. As the home town of the most decorated Olympic cyclist, Jason Kenny, the country would rightly expect, if we were going to build a cycling facility that it would be able to hold regional and national competitions. In doing so it would raise the town's profile and bring the associated economic benefits you would expect.

You should therefore be aware that the project being proposed will fail to meet the above criteria and take greenfield land with the potential of embarrassing the town.

We are possibly about to miss a golden opportunity to have the best cycling track in the North west. Once we have been awarded the money from British Cycling we will never get this opportunity again.

Therefore I urge you to raise concerns about the proposal, the process which has been adopted to drive this through and the potentially long term damage to the town and its reputation.
