THE draft Greater Manchester Spatial Framework document and map are out for public consultation. That may not mean a lot to many people but believe me it is of great importance because it identifies areas across the borough where housing developers would like to build houses.
You only have until December 23 to get your objections or comments in to the authorities.
In Heaton and Lostock there are several small sites earmarked and two large sites. The two major sites include the whole of Regents Park golf course and the area between Beaumont Road and Rumworth reservoir reaching down to Wigan Road.
You can see the detailed documents and a comprehensive map at the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework website at http://gmsf-consult.objective.co.uk/portal.
Once the consultation is finished Greater Manchester planners will produce a final plan which will be approved by the new Greater Manchester Combined Authority on which Bolton has just one voice, our council leader, out of eleven. If you have only the slightest interest in planning the future housing strategy for Bolton we would strongly encourage you to look and the documents and the map and get your comments in as soon as possible.
