Re outrage over fines at Farnworth retail complex car park.
With regard to the story about dozens of motorist being fined due to the erection of cameras on the King Street Retail Car Park, I would point out that you used to be able to park across the road on the old open market site until the council fenced it off.
Maybe councillors can explain what the reason for this was? The derelict market site has stood empty for at least the past 12 months and unless Bolton Council and St Modwen get their finger out and start the long overdue redevelopment of Farnworth town centre, it is likely to remain derelict for a long time to come.
In the interim, if at least if it was allowed to serve as a free car park it could bring more badly needed business to the town.
