IN response to Simon Pearce's letter, featured in The Bolton News on June 26, about Cllr Sean Hornby, chairman of Bolton Council's planning committee, not caring about Bolton's heritage.
I say to that, what a load of rubbish. Every article and letter that Cllr Hornby has in the paper shows nothing but respect for our heritage.
As for the comment Mr Pearce makes about the effect that building office blocks and apartments in and around the town centre has on Bolton's heritage, I say it is about time things are being done to improve the look of Bolton. These buildings were ugly and unsafe. Why would anyone want to leave these unsafe buildings standing?
We are living in the 21st century. I suggest Mr Pearce moves with the times.
Mrs Newton, Little Lever
