I HAVE just read an article about the chicanes at the bottom of Crown Lane and the sudden need to have them scrapped.

Firstly, may I say that the pair of them look like they could only have cost a few pounds to put together, rather than the £24,000 quoted.

Wingates Lane has a perfectly good chicane in place that actually looks like a calming measure, unlike the ones in Crown Lane, which look like a bunch of sticklebricks.

Will Cllr Rock now listen to the people of Horwich when we say: "Please do not shut our Town Hall, help us get some police on our streets, give our youngsters somewhere to go, put our minds at rest as to what the long term future of Montcliffe Quarry is likely to be, help us to reduce the monstrous amount of recycled waste being collected adjacent to one of our few remaining primary schools and help keep our Morris Dancers clogging away' on St George's Day without having to pay for road closures."

I doubt Cllr Rock will listen. However, to all our councillors who promise to serve the people, one day, just maybe, somebody will actually oppose the lot of you and stand up for the people of Horwich.
