I WILL be wearing my red poppy again this year as I do every year, to honour the memory of four young men from Deane who went to war at Gallipoli in 1915.
They were my grandfather and his three brothers.
Only one of them returned home. The others were killed in action.
They were four young brothers well known and respected in the Deane area where they all lived.
They wanted to fight for king and country and do their duty.
Will I ever forget to wear my poppy? Never, not a chance.
