THE latest makeover of that quintessentially English hero Robin Hood is wowing Saturday night telly audiences.
But, while Jonas Armstrong makes a creditable leader of the Sherwood Forest outlaws, another character is getting far more attention - and he's a baddie.
Richard Armitage, pictured above, plays Sir Guy of Gisborne with a very deep voice and a terrific long leather coat that looks like it was borrowed from an early Take That video.
Tall, sexy and in great shape (so plenty of top-off washing scenes, then), he is far more interesting than Robin, who is just too nice.
OK, Sir Guy is a bit mean to the peasants and thinks nothing of wiping out a few villages but, hey, everyone has off-days.
I can't think why Maid Marian constantly rebuffs his advances, except that it's what folklore demands, dammit.
