AM I living on a different planet than Jesamine Kay, Labour candidate for Little Lever and Darcy Lever, and William Gallagher, Labour candidate for Breightmet, in their letters to The Bolton News?
Jesamine stated (Saturday, April 12), that, "Tory policy will close post offices" - I thought Labour was already doing this on a massive scale.
William Gallagher stated (Monday, April 14), that, "council tax is a lot cheaper under Labour" - may I remind him that since Labour came to power 10 years ago, council tax has increased in the region of 95 per cent.
These are complete distortions of the facts, and it is little wonder that people of this country do not bother to vote when politicians and councillors come out with misleading statements like this.
