We are a country on the verge of a recession, if the media is to be believed. We are in a credit crunch society where people are struggling to pay their bills. Heating and fuel bills are getting to the limits of people’s ability to pay for them. Yet what do we see. The typical extravagance of an organisation that snubs our ability to pay for things by showing us how they spend our money in these penny watching times.

The BBC has sent their top presenter, Terry Wogan, whose pay packet from the BBC is in the millions, on a cruise ship around the Mediterranean. Brilliant timing.

A nation struggling to pay for things on the verge of a very cold winter and we get it shoved firmly in our faces by the cost to the license payer of a sound crew and millionaire Terry Wogan’s bank balance to have a warm winter break “Doing the Med”.

After the cock up of Brand and Ross, does the British public really need another example of the lack of thought that goes in to the way the BBC spend our money?
