HAS Bolton council totally lost the plot? At a recent planning meeting, the only councillor who showed any interest in the traffic problems in the town centre was Conservative councillor John Walsh.

The council have now agreed, in the interest of the public crossing the road from Deansgate to Churchgate, to close Crown Street from the car park to the junction with Bradshawgate.

As a taxi driver for the last 20-odd years, I fail to see how redirecting traffic from Crown Street will help what is already a nightmare getting through Bolton.

Bank Street, in my opinion, can't take any more traffic, and to push more traffic from the multi-storey and the smaller car park opposite, and in the words off Cllr Peel, by putting a filter light on the traffic lights at Bow Street, will not add any more time to a journey.

Bolton has changed, but has it changed for the better?
