BOLTON Council recently said Westhoughton needs more houses which I disagree with.
What is there in Westhoughton to attract people to live here?
It is no longer a major employer, a poor shopping centre, the streets are full of holes, pavements are uneven, and streets and roads are no longer able to cope with more traffic and not enough parking areas.
Reading an article in a daily newspaper on Saturday, July 29, I wonder if Bolton Council knew what was printed beforehand.
I quote the article: "Build more homes or I put up council tax, warns Kelly".
This is our MP, who, in the past, has objected to seven applications for houses and land.
It seems when she changed her job, she changed her mind.
When factories were being demolished in Westhoughton and houses were being built on the sites, I wrote to the Bolton Evening News saying the only benefit of these homes being built would be the extra council tax Bolton would get.
Little would be spent on Westhoughton.
That is still my view.
