FOR many years, Bolton has been represented in Parliament by the Socialist Party. Likewise, our council has been under the control of the Socialists.

Our council has stated that due to the cuts in expenditure, it will prune all its schemes and appointments, and when staff have been given early retirement, people will still be made redundant.

When such a situation arose in some areas of the private sector, to prevent their fellow workers being made redundant, they agreed to a drop in their pay.

Might I suggest that our Socialist staff and employers agree to a pay reduction of say 15 per cent thus saving many jobs?
