I AM not surprised that pharmaceutical companies defend experiments on animals and insist experiments on animals are necessary.

There is no need for experiments on animals — all drugs exist despite them, not because of them.

Unfortunately some animals are lost through misleading animal testing that diverts attention and resources away from other, more relevant research.

Aside from the wasted resources that should be used instead on appropriate non-animal research, we should ask what right do we have to deliberately subject sentient beings to prolonged painful and frightening experiments.

We may have a fear of illness, but should that make us so arrogant to believe that suffering can be deliberately inflicted on other creatures?

Experiments on animals will continue, unseen by the public, until enough people care enough to stop them.

Take care when filling your plastic bags and dropping coins in collection boxes.
