BOLTON’S Paddy McGuinness is certainly the man of the moment – and quite right, too.

It only seems like two minutes ago that he was the Jack the Lad doorman of “Phoenix Nights” and now he’s the host-of-choice for a range of TV programmes including “Take Me Out”

and “71 Degrees North.”

He’s also about to embark on a sell-out standup tour nationally and we’ll see more of Paddy on the telly next year acting in Caroline Aherne’s comedy series The Security Men.

Add to that the fact that this year he married his beauty queen girlfriend, lovely Christine Martin, and it’s easy to understand why the comedian is a happy man.

The great thing is that noone begrudges Paddy his success because he’s hardly changed from the days when he was a fitness instructor at Horwich Leisure Centre.

He’s just as approachable and friendly, still lives in Bolton and is a great promoter of the town.

Perhaps that is the key to his success: you can take the boy out of Bolton but you can’t take Bolton out of the boy.

And Paddy doesn’t want his life any different
