I WAS appalled to read the article "Estate suffers cuts to buses", referring to cuts on the 570 bus service.

Let's take a look at the facts surrounding buses serving the Morris Green area.

Services 554 and 570 are both hourly, with no evening and no Sunday service - and you are lucky if they keep to an hourly service as quite often they go missing.

It is nothing short of a scandal that we are yet again having to suffer cuts to bus services in the Morris Green area so soon after losing the number 12.

I found Cllr Nick Peel's comments that people will find it harder to get a bus most amusing, because if the situation gets much worse people will find it hard to get ANY bus in this area!

It was stated that cuts to services had been agreed after a survey was undertaken on the 570 route.

May I suggest that the same people do a similar survey on the 575 Horwich route, where there are 10 buses per hour, with many of them not half full.

So come on, people of Morris Green, let your feelings be known to the appropiate authorities over this issue.

If you don't, it won't be long before we have no bus service at all.
