I HAVE seen many reports about the RAF bomber crews during the Second World War and am amazed that anybody could condemn anything they did.
What truly amazes me though is the fact that American bomber crews were sent home after completing 25 missions and they got medals and were treated as heroes. The RAF crews clocked up as many as 60 missions, some did as many as 80 missions, and for that bravery they have never really received the praise they richly deserved for their efforts.
From the tail gunner to the co-pilot to the navigator, etc, each and everyone of them was a hero.
