ABOUT the taxi drivers wanting a pay rise.
The first thing they need to do is provide a decent service.
It is impossible to get a taxi on weekday mornings. I ordered a taxi at 7.30am, I was informed the wait would be 30 mins. A taxi eventually arrived an hour and 15 mins later.
This is not a good service. This needs to improve before a pay rise is even considered.
Getting to Egerton in a morning is horrendous. The 533 bus leaves the interchange at 6.19am, the next one is at 09.50.
When you start work at 9am you cannot use the 533.
The only way is by taxi, but they are unreliable. Something need to be done about this.
Walking in the pouring rain is not good for people's health.
