BACK in January 1954 the town of Farnworth was delighted to get its bells back.
Residents had been missing the chiming of the Farnworth Parish Church bells which had been unheard for four months while they were re-cast and modernised.
Here we see them being hoisted back into their rightful place in the belfry.
