ALTHOUGH we are not ready for the winter just yet this photograph from our archives may well bring back happy memories for some and less happy memories for others.
It shows how tram car drivers had to contend with heavy snowfall as they tried to make their journeys along Bolton Road in Westhoughton back in 1940. So was it true that summers were warmer and winters colder when we were young?
