A SINGER from Bolton is hoping for stardom after making it through to the second round of a national competition.
Samantha Court, from Johnson Fold, will appear at the Open Mic UK regional showcase at The Willows, in Salford, on October 24.
If the 24-year old impresses the audience and judges there, she could be on her way to the grand final, held at the O2 in London and judged by Dane Bowers, Martin O’Shea, Lee from Steps, Maria Rubia and Tim Noble.
The overall prize is a two year recording contract and up to £30,000 investment.
Samantha said: “I was absolutely ecstatic when I got through. I’ve been singing since I was very little, and I’ve always wanted to have the chance to do it professionally.”
