FARA brings together four leading musicians at the forefront of today’s Scottish folk scene – Jennifer Austin, Kristan Harvey, Jeana Leslie and Catriona Price’s three fiddles and a piano – to produce a fiery sound rooted strongly in their upbringing among the music of Orkney.
With Christmas just around the corner, the girls come to The Met to present a unique night of Christmas cheer with a medley of Christmas music, and some original song and tunes with a Christmas twist.
“We loved the tour last year’ said Jeana.“It was great fun. We re-arranged some of our own music as well as put our own touch on some of the more famous Christmas Carols. Silent Night seemed to be the audience favourite from last year, so it will be interesting to see if that’s the same this time round”
Fara play Derby Hall at The Met, Bury, on Saturday, December 14 at 8pm.
