BELGIAN street punk band Mise En Scene will play the Blue Boar, on Bradshawgate, on Thursday, May 1.

They will be supported by Bolton's only ska-punk band, The Minions.

Minions front man Matthew Leonard said: "Should be a great gig. Paul Makin, the gig organiser at the Blue Boar is putting some top nights on at the moment.

"The metal and punk all dayers are becoming the stuff of legend and if you've brought London punk legends Inner Terrestrials to play your venue you aren't doing too bad.

"Mise En Scene are another band that the Blue Boar have managed to get hold of that's created a bit of a stir in and around the Manchester and Bolton punk scenes. These boys are a big noise in the Punk community in Belgium so having them playing in Bolton would appear to be a bit of a coup."

The band, whose single Six Chords/Have You Got A Knife? is out on iTunes now, are looking forward to a busy few months.

"The showcase is looming large and we're all looking forward to it," says Matt. "We're trying to coincide all the live action with the release of the our second album which is looking like it'll be finished in time for summer.

"After that we go to Vegas blow all the cash on drugs and poker and return, yes flat broke but with a positive outlook on life and a passionate hatred for materialism."
