A CHARITY comedy night headlined by Colin Manford is being held in Horwich next week — and the younger sibling of TV comic Jason hopes it will be the first of many Bolton gigs as the brothers prepare to find a permanent venue in the town for their new comedy club.
Colin is making quite a name for himself in his own right with a number of sell out gigs and festival appearances — and has even written for 8 Out of 10 Cats and Walk on the Wild Side — but recently the brothers announced a collaboration, Manford’s Comedy Club, which sees them host comedy nights at venues around the country.
They are currently on the lookout for a Bolton venue to house some of the country’s finest stand up comedians, but for now Colin is happy to test the waters at Horwich RMI on April 11 along with Penellor Mellor to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK and Ovarian Cancer Action.
Colin said: “It’s going to be a really good night of comedy so anyone who likes a laugh should come down and help raise money for a good cause.
“Plus it’ll be a good precursor for when mine and Jason’s comedy night comes to Bolton. They’re going really well so far — we have got a number of venues around the country, but we really want to find one in Bolton.
“It’s a great town. Somewhere like the Little Theatre would be perfect, but we’ll have to see.”
