A SINGER-songwriter has hit the back of the net with a matchday gig at Gary Neville’s Hotel Football.

The multi-million pound hotel overlooks Old Trafford and Ryan Jarvis, 26 , will be performing for guests during Manchester United’s matchdays.

The hotel is part-owned by ex-football stars Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers.

And Ryan, from Smithills, impressed hospitality chiefs after performing during the recent Europa League Final, which United lost to Villareal.

The singer has supported The Courteeners, released singles on different steaming platforms and scored gigs at multiple popular festivals across the country.

He said: “A mate of mine saw a post on a Manchester bars group looking for a singer-songwriter with a catalogue of original material and covers that could get a crowd going. He sent my name over and I was contacted the same day and it just went from there.

“I can’t wait to start. Being a United fan and coming from a massive red family, it’s an absolute buzz to be asked. It’s going to be a great opportunity to promote the proper headline Ryan Jarvis shows that I have coming up with my band as well.”

Ryan will perform sets before each Premier League home game to get the Old Trafford Supporters Club warmed up.

He’ll then perform a small set after each game, for any fans who stick around whether it’s win, lose or draw.

Ryan said he rarely gets nervous for his gigs, but the Europa League final brought jitters.

He added: “As it got closer and closer to kick off, the United fans were getting more and more rowdy.

“I never get nervous before a gig, but this one I was a little apprehensive about how they’d react to my little set. I went straight into a United song and I had them on my side for the full 30 minute set. It was top.”

Other upcoming gigs for Ryan include the Made in Manchester Festival on June 26, and at Fac251 in November.
